Our Chapter

The Wichita chapter of the AMS/NWA was formed back in 1994. The chapter's goal is to share knowledge of atmospheric sciences to the local meteorlogical and scientific community. We also promote weather education to the local community. We do this by hosting seasonal meetings as well as a semi-annual weather conference.

The Wichita chapter is composed of meteorologists from around South-Central Kansas, including the National Weather Service, WeatherData Inc., local television stations, along with other scientists, teachers, students, and storm chasers.

Anyone is invited to attend AMS/NWA meetings...you need not be a member of the local or national chapters. If you interested in joining the local AMS/NWA chapter, the dues are $15 per year. To join the Wichita AMS/NWA chapter, print out a copy of this application.
